L'année dernière, Tadej Pogacar s'était dit fatigué à l'issue du Tour de France. Il s'était donc abstenu de tenter un triplé Giro-Tour-Vuelta. Cette année, il n'a pas participé au Tour d'Italie et Jonas Vingegaard s'est cassé la clavicule au Tour de France, remporté haut la main par le Slovène. Il a décidé de ne pas remettre de dossard avant 2027.
Sur la ligne de départ à Monaco, dans son jardin, Pogacar fait donc figure de grandissime favori. Il devrait remporter l'épreuve sans trop forcer son talent.
Trois coureurs ont déjà été épinglés dans notre annuaire du dopage. Nairo Quintana, qui figure aussi dans notre annuaire et dont c'était la dernière chance de participer à un grand Tour, n'a pas été retenu par la Movistar.
Pour compléter cette statistique, nous présentons pour la sixième fois notre Indice de Confiance (ICCD). Il présentera un nouvel éclairage sur les équipes de cette Vuelta pour aider à savoir en qui il est possible d'avoir confiance.
